After seeing a post on Pinterest about making imitation cloisonne pieces from polymer clay, I decided to give it a try. The link to the page I used is here, it is in Espanol, but the pictures tell the story, or you can use translate.

It involves texturing a piece of black clay with a texture sheet. You then rub Pearl-Ex powder over the design to bring out the raised sections. You could leave it alone like that, or you could paint certain sections. I used simple acrylic paints. After baking and cooling, you then can add a layer of resin. I did two with only the pearl-ex powder, and two with some parts painted.

Imitation Cloisonne Polymer Clay. Imprint with texture sheet, then brush with Pearl-Ex powder. Paint sections with acrylic paint, then bake.
