Ah, another Wednesday and another day to make a beaded bracelet. This one DID actually take me all day, all those tiny flowers take time! Of course, I did alot more than just bead…as a matter of fact I made some cookies, which my family says are “the best I’ve ever made”….I had some blueberries in the fridge which were approaching the “use ’em or lose ’em” stage, so I found a recipe on Pinterest for Blueberry Cheesecake Cookies -they were super simple to make (they use Jiffy blueberry muffin mix!). Also since my cable has been having issues, and the Comcast guy wasn’t due to come until between 3 and 5, we put in a season of the Sopranos. It’s hard to pay attention to tiny beaded flowers and keep one eye on the TV at the same time 🙂
Anyhoo… the bracelet was from a pattern on the bead and button website, of which I am NOT a paid member, but last week they had a free pass access for everyone so I downloaded as many patterns as I could and this was one of them. For those of you who ARE paid members, the link is here. It is basically a base of a double row of right angle weave. I decided to be fancy and make my base out of 4 colors, I had a seed bead mix called “chocolates and blue”. Honestly, you can’t even really tell all that much in the finished project since the flowers cover everything up.
The embellishment is little X’s of 11/0 and 15/0 seed beads in cream, gold and turquoise blue, and every fifth flower is actually a 4mm turquoise blue bicone. The bracelet actually looks better ON THE WRIST than laying ON THE TABLE, because the curve of your wrist opens the flowers up and they look more like, well, flowers. The clasp is a beaded bead and a loop. All in all, I likes it!
